Does anyone else notice that "Yoga" is a four-letter word?!

So I haven't missed any workouts except for the week I was reallly sick . . . until last thursday . . . when I was scheduled to do Yoga.  I just couldn't get myself to stay up late for it.  So yes.  I skipped it.

Anyone having issues motivating themselves with certain exercises?

The consequences of working in an office . . .

So I've been doing p90X now for four weeks now, but I've found it rather difficult to contribute to the blog.  Here's the reason:  Starting my new job as a structural engineer has been challenging in one aspect, that of sitting an a desk all day long.  I'm not used to sitting in one location for 9 hours a day tapping away at a computer.  The result of this is that when I'm done with work, the last thing I want to do sometimes is get home and hop on the computer again!  And because, at work, we are strongly encouraged to not do personal stuff on the internet (email, blogs, etc.) that stuff has found itself on the backburner.

So my apologies for not contributing more to the blog.  But here's an update.

-My favorite workouts have been: Plyometrics and Kenpo
-My least favorites are any of the arm workouts, and of course, Ab Ripper X
-I've only missed two workouts.  Luckily, they were both duing my "off" week.  I missed the stretch workout when a friend's basement flooded. I figure bailing water was my workout that night!
-I look forward to the Plyometrics video, when Tony tells us all to land softly and jump like "cat man and spider woman!" I find it terribly humorous.

Anyway, I promise to try and contibute more.  I enjoy having a structured workout to do everyday, and look forward to doing it everyday!  Except, of course, Ab Ripper X.

Getting Better

I guess I have to admit I'm getting better at plyometrics, despite it being my least favorite excercise when I started. Now, it's somewhere it the middle of the rankings. Yay for getting into better shape!

Tyler & Janna Week 3

Week four is coming none too soon!
I missed the Kenpo day #6 this week, but I didn't feel too bad about it because we went with another couple and took our significant others sledding for Valentine's day yesterday! After climbing a sand dune about a hundred times, I decided that we had gotten our aerobic workout for the day!

I almost died doing Yoga this week, but I can already feel myself getting flexible again! I used to be quite limber in my gymnastics days, and now I can finally palm the floor and touch my knees with my nose again! Hooray!

My favorite workout this week was the legs and back. I still can only do about 1 1/2 pullups, but I can tell that I am about to have a breakthrough soon! Maybe by week 5 or 6 I will be able to do more.

I have really enjoyed seeing real results week after week. I can do more of the moves every week! I have decided that the best part about p90x is the muscle confusion. I have also decided that the worst part about p90x is the muscle confusion! It seems to really work, but I can't help thinking "I can look like Dreya and STILL have a hard time doing this???"

Tyler and Janna's Week #2

Week number two has come and gone, and we are still hanging in there - barely!
We are both "feeling the burn" in week two, and it is awesome!

Tyler's favorite workout this last week was Arms and Shoulders, his least favorite is definitely anything cardio!

My favorite workout this week was Kenpo karate. Our nephew Jake is really into karate (as much as a 5 year old can be) and did the workout with me. It was really fun. I think I ended up making the workout harder than it had to be, as I was alternately doing the moves and chasing Jake around the living room. Fun stuff!

We are both noticing that our arms are getting more defined already. Hopefully we will be noticing some more results in upcoming weeks!
